Professor Anak Agung Banyu Perwita, lecturer of International Relations for the Catholic University of Parahyangan (Unpar), who was accused of plagiarism in The Jakarta Post, honorably apologized for his act.
The apology was given to Kompas through an SMS, Wednesday. The SMS: “I just want to apologize for everything. I’ve submitted my resignation from Unpar as a form of responsibility for my act…”
When questioned later what he’d do for the future, he said, “I don’t know…”.
Regarding the apology, Chairman of the Senate of Unpar, Johanes Gunawan, confirmed to the university that Banyu Perwita has apologized. A few days ago he sent his letter of apology and regret to the rectorate, and stated that he was willing to receive any sanction. However, then the professor resigned, claimed the chairman.
