Japan’s trade surplus highlights earthquake recovery after quake

(ChinaPost.com.tw) – The slump in Japan’s exports moderated in June in a sign the world’s third-largest economy is beginning to mend after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. The finance ministry said Thursday that exports fell 1.6 percent from a year earlier after logging double-digit declines in April and May. Imports rose 9.8 percent.
