Germany’s national railway operator unveils hydroelectric energy contract

(ChinaPost.com.tw) – Germany’s national railway operator has announced a deal to buy hydroelectric power from generator RWE AG, part of a plan to increase its use of renewable energy. Deutsche Bahn AG said the deal, worth more than 1 billion euros (US$1.4 billion), was signed on Monday. It will see RWE provide power from 14 hydroelectric plants between 2014 and 2028.
