China set to sell stockpiled pork in attempt to calm prices: spokesman

(ChinaPost.com.tw) – China’s government says it will sell pork from official stockpiles as part of efforts to dampen surging food prices. A Commerce Ministry spokesman announced the plan Friday. He gave no details but said some local governments began releasing pork from stockpiles into the market last month.
