TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Another ex-state official detained today for graft which made the number of detention in a single day to three, for three different cases.
Sudjadnan Parnohadiningrat, former indonesian Ambassador to the United States was “incarcerated at the Cipinang Penitentiary since today for the sake of the investigation,” spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission Johan Budi said.
Charges on Sudjanan is: involved in corruption in the restoration project of Indonesian embassy, guest house, and official residence of Indonesian Ambassador to the United States from 2003 – 2004.
Sudjanan was the Secretary General of the Foreign Department when the project was running before he became the ambassador in 2006, while Soemadi Brotodiningrat was the ambassador.
Sudjanan allegedly get a cut for approving additional US$1.9 million budget for the project while the government according to the anti-graft commission bear a loss of around US$200,000.
